The bumblebee(shown here) vibrates the flower to get pollen |
So I'm going to explain the bees pollination more simply.
Efficacy:
This picture shows a worker that is using a paint brush to get the pollen of this flower (when there are no bee to pollinate this specific type of flower). But the problem is, there are tons of flowers as a result, the workers must work for days to pollinate all of the flowers that they've planted (=lots of paint brushing). But honey bees showed us how quick they can pollinate flower to flower and get great nutrients at the same time.

This picture made me laugh for a long time, this man is using a vibrator, which he'll use for vibrating the plant like a bumblebee. So lets compare the efficacy between a bumblebee and a vibrator. The bumblebee's pollination process is mainly shaking the flower to let the pollen fall on his body, so this process will maximum take about 5 seconds. But on the other hand, the vibrator also vibrates (it;s in the name) the flower and the man will collect the pollen to move them to another flower, so that'll take 10 or less seconds to finish this process.
Bees are dying, so when they die, there are less pollinators. Bees are not the only pollinators, but they are the important and do most of the work in the family of pollinators. There are a few reasons they are dying: pesticides, food desert, virus, and less flowers available of what they usually pollinate (alfalfa flowers and clovers).
Pesticides:
Mainly neonics, are an insecticide that are a toxic weapon against the bees. When they are pollinating flowers, they might get dizzy and die if they lose their way home.
Food desert:
The food desert is a description in which something or someone needs to walk (or fly) an extremely long distance to get food. The food desert is a menace against bees. Farmers start to plant crop with no flowers like wheat and corn, and plant them in a gigantic field. The bees have no choice but to fly greater distances and risk dying.
With the issues of insecticide and the food desert, the bees will get dizzy. They must find a flower to feed themselves but the next flower is a few kilometres too far. This is a horrible situation facing these poor insects.
Virus:
This is a thing bees can't avoid. Just like for humans, the virus is something that comes naturally. But the virus can be transported within the whole hive, that's creepy.
The flowerless landscape:
Like the food desert, people now don't usually plant alfalfas and clovers, so the bees suffer from not getting their best nutrition.

We can help these helpful insects reproduce. Plant pollinator friendly plants and DO NOT use pesticides on your plants. That will really help them! Start planting them now:)
